Sail Labs Technology AG (Sail)
Sail Labs Technology AG (Sail) is a leading global provider of speech recognition technology and was founded in 1999 in Vienna, Austria. Currently 20 employees and consultants work at SAIL. SAIL develops technologies to mine media and text including indexing of audio, video and text, speech recognition, transcriptions from multiple languages, named entity and topic detection and translation. The solutions allow topic search in any media file, summarisation, and visualisation. SAIL supports commercial applications (e.g., news monitoring, broadcast news indexing) and government applications (e.g., public opinion monitoring, surveillance and intelligence gathering). SAIL has a very strong team of experts, which have deep knowledge in speech recognition. SAIL researchers have been active in this area for over 10 years and have gained vast experience in the fields of natural language processing, acoustic modelling, language modelling, and speech recognition algorithms. Furthermore, they have profound knowledge in software development (including design, internationalization and integration of research technology into software products and components), as well as linguistics, mathematics, computer science and ASR technology. SAIL has not only single- media research competence, but started as early as 2001 research on cross-media analysis. Together with a global network of partners, SAIL provides comprehensive solutions for vertical markets. Continual innovation at the leading edge of linguistic and IT research drives SAIL’s vision of creating technologies that enable advanced language understanding capabilities.
